Health Camp: Mountain View School, Ambala

An initiative by Dream a Difference to promote health awareness and extend medical support.


Dream a Difference, in association with social activist Ms. Yogita Bhayana, organized a Medical Camp for 200 children at The Mountain View School, run by Shri Swami Rama Foundation Trust and located at Village Bhurewala, Tehsil Naraingarh, Distt. Ambala.


The Camp was conducted by an expert team of Doctors - Dr Sunila, Pediatric Dentist from Chandigarh along with Dr. Harpreet and Dr Vinod, General Practitioners from Naraingarh. They were assisted by a team of three nurses.


Along with the basic health check-up, the idea of the health camp was to highlight the importance of Preventive Health and improved diet of the children.

This program was attended by Hon'ble Sarpanch of the Village, educationists and parents. Media coverage was done by Punjab Kesari and Divya Himachal. The program also promoted campaign of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ through cultural program presented by students.


The panel of doctors conducted a medical examination of students by checking their height, weight, dental and ENT check-up. Personal health cards were issued to all the students where the doctors documented their diagnosis. Typical diagnosis and recommendation by doctors were:

  • Students were found underweight and slightly anemic – doctors recommended deworming of every children once in every 6 months.

  • Increased intake of milk, green vegetables and protein in diet is required for the kids.

  • Promoting appropriate intake of water.

Overall, the doctors were satisfied with the personal hygiene and dental health of the children. The health camp was concluded with distribution of medicines such as calcium supplement, vitamin syrup and iron folic acid syrup to students.

Dream a Difference team also conducted awareness and educational session to encourage children to maintain good hygiene in order to lead a happy and a healthy life.
