Our Projects

An initiative by Dream a Difference for the welfare of under-privileged children

Dream a Difference has initiated a school uniforms donation drive for the children from marginalized communities. The parents of such children are rarely able to afford the schools fees, text books and other paraphernalia required for their children’s education. Although not a primary requisite for ensuring the children’s education, school uniforms develop a sense of belonging to a community in the students/children which also contribute to their self -esteem and motivation to study.

In its endeavor and commitment to encourage children to complete their education, the school uniform donation drive was organized which entailed distribution of the uniforms to 65 children.

Dream a Difference's follow-up to Day Camp with the children of Marajpur

Team Dream a Difference continued its initiatives for the children from Marajpur slum area, Ramprasth (UP). A winter-wear donation camp “Joy of Giving” was organized for the kids. Our team distributed winter-wear (woolen clothing and caps) to all the kids and had a day long interaction and playing with them while also emphasizing the importance of proper education for their future and their families.

Dream a Difference team organized a day camp at a learning center running for 64 slum children aged between 4-8 years from Marajpur village, UP and Ramprasth Juggi. The parents of these children work as rickshaw pullers, rag pickers and fruit and vegetable hawkers and often times are unable to provide the necessary education or proper diet for their children. The learning center provides regular classes to these children to prepare them to be mainstreamed to a MCD/Government school as well as to provide remedial classes so that they don’t drop out from these schools. This also ensures that while the parents are out to work for the daily living of the family, the children do not fall in nefarious company.

Our team as part of the day camp interacted with the children, disseminating relevant information to the children to inculcate the importance of education for their future and their families. Healthy-food packets were also distributed to the children along with participation in the lessons imparted for the day.
